Jefferson County G.A.L. is part of National CASA, the only volunteer organization that empowers everyday citizens to advocate as appointed members of the court. In an overburdened social welfare system with hundreds of other cases, abused and neglected children often slip through the cracks. G.A.L. volunteers change that.

Our Name
Guardian ad Litem is a legal term for a person who has the authority to advocate for a child’s best interest when that child is a ward of the state. For convenience, we often call ourselves G.A.Ls.
